Project Outline
The project would be located on privately owned arable farm land approximately 1km north-east of the village of Thornholme.
- The project could generate up to 25.2MW of renewable electricity.
- It is currently estimated that the wind farm will generate the equivalent electricity needs of approximately 24,000 East Riding of Yorkshire homes (based on average domestic consumption per household of 3,223.6kWh p.a., DESNZ, 2023).
- The addition of wind to the already approved Three Oaks solar farm would create a hybrid renewable energy park supporting the UK’s ambition to become a clean energy superpower. This innovative and efficient combination of solar, wind, and battery storage will deliver an excellent source of secure and reliable renewable energy at a time when it is needed most.
- Three Oaks Renewable Energy Park Extension would create a substantial Community Benefit Fund of over £5 million over the lifetime of its operation, which could provide an energy rebate for properties surrounding the wind farm, along with a contribution to local projects and initiatives.

Infrastructure & Surveys
Infrastructure
The project would include 6 wind turbines (each with a maximum tip height of up to 149.9 metres). The site would be accessed from the A614, using the local road network.
Surveys
Our proposals and designs for the site will be guided by data gathered during surveys, technical assessments, advice provided by independent environmental consultants, and community feedback. Ecological surveys are ongoing and will continue through 2025. The technical assessment reports will be provided within the reporting that will accompany our planning application.
Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
An Environmental Statement will be submitted with the planning application to assist East Riding of Yorkshire when determining the application.
