Ridge Clean Energy Submits Planning Application for Pioneering English Onshore Wind Project

Ridge Clean Energy is pleased to announce its submission of one of the first new English onshore wind projects following the Government’s planning reforms. The project could deliver sufficient renewable electricity to power approximately 24,000 homes while creating a major new hybrid renewable energy park in East Riding of Yorkshire.

The Three Oaks Renewable Energy Park Extension, a proposed six-turbine onshore wind farm located between Thornholme and Haisthorpe, would add up to 25.2MW of wind generation capacity alongside the consented Three Oaks Renewable Energy Park. The combined energy park will create a hybrid renewable energy development of 39 MW solar pv, 50 MWH BESS and onshore wind technologies.

If approved, the scheme would unlock a substantial Community Benefit Fund of £126,000 per year, equating to over £5 million over 40 years. Funding is proposed to be used for a Local Energy Discount Scheme for nearby households as well as a comprehensive Community Benefit Fund for tangible local projects and initiatives.

The planning submission follows extensive environmental assessments, technical surveys and community consultation, including public exhibitions held in Burton Agnes, Carnaby and Rudston.

The application will now be considered by East Riding of Yorkshire Council through the formal planning process.
