St Peter’s C of E Junior School in Ruddington was forced to close in December 2025 after routine window repairs uncovered rot in the timber structural columns of the school building deeming it unsafe.

Students and staff were moved to other schools for three months, but in April 2026 a new temporary building to house all 350 pupils opened on the old school grounds. Ridge Clean Energy provided each returning pupil with a Ridge Clean Energy pencil as a welcome gift when the school was reunited under one roof.
